Holiday Primping...

So I have completely neglected my blog over the past couple of weeks. I've just started a new job with crazy hours and much more responsibility than I am used to. That combined with the fact I had a 3 day bender for my 20th, and now have a stomach bug, means my blog posts have suffered just a little and for that I apologise. However I am back now and getting my game on.

As I am going on holiday to Corfu on Monday, I thought it appropriate to do a little post on holidays and the ridiculous amount of preparation needed to go and relax for a week. It is crazy, as I am sure the majority of you girls will agree with me.

We all want to look our best on the beach, sexy as hell in the hottest bikini ever seen. Now I'm not talking the TOWIE bikini and heel combo, but us girls like to look good. So it all starts a couple of months before with the 'bikini diet'. Now this is a diet then in our head, we can achieve easily. In reality, from personal experience, it tends to end up being a more fuck it I'll just not eat the week before I go. No carbs before marbs is literally my worst nightmare ever, give me pasta and bread all day everyday!!!

So with the failed bikini diet firmly under my belt, it's about time to go shopping for the perfect swimsuit, or for lovely people like me who are less well endowed in the breast region - a bandeau bikini. I have found this to be the most flattering type as I actually look slightly feminine as opposed to a triangle one where I seem to resemble that of a teenage boy. Not really the look I am aiming for. Typically I end up in River Island where it's £25 a pop. £125 down the line and I think I am bikini prepared.

I said I think. But then, the week leading up to is filled with primping and preening. Hair cut, manicuring, pedicuring, exfoliating, moisturising, and the dreaded waxing. Or in my opinion, the more dreaded idea of growing the hair for said waxing. An oh so sexy look I'm sure you will agree. Legs, underarms, bikini line it's all gotta be done, you don't want any strays whilst youre strutting your stuff on the beach.

And then the sun cream. Oh the sun cream. I don't know why, but I always think that I'll buy the factor below the one I used the previous year. Despite the fact I obtained horrendous burn lines (yes burn, not tan) this still seems like a good idea. I mean I tanned in the garden in the UK for an hour, so I should be fine in Corfu. Right!? I'm going to tell myself that anyway. The after sun will get quite a lot of use I feel.

But the bit that I love the most, that everyone else seems to absolutely hate, is the packing! I love packing. I'm weird in that way. I'm a bit of an organising freak if I'm honest. If anyone of my housemates are reading this then they will know that I have an obsession with all of my clothes being organised in a specific way, and so packing is just like that for me. Plus how cute are those little travel shampoos and conditioners! Only useful for about one wash as they hold about a thimble full, but still so cute. I do however struggle with the 15kg allowance. Personally I think girls should get an extra 10kg allowance - it's only logical!

After my nice little ramblings there, I shall leave you with a few of my fave bikinis available right now. Some that I have managed to get my hands on, and others that I love but just cannot afford due to their ridiculous price tag! I'm going to swim in it for goodness sake, why do you need to be so expensive!?! Anyway... enjoy...

  2. If black off shoulder dress keeps women a sense of mystery. Then white dress long sleeve mini shows the neat and pure of a girl.
