The Bucket List...

As I am about to embark on my final week at university, it got me thinking what I want to do with my life. Obviously I want to work, somehow in journalism, somewhere in the world. I want to settle down and have a family, and I want to do lots of fun exciting things. Doesn't everybody!?! But there are certain things more than others, specific things that I really really want to do - and it's mainly travelling. Living in a small town, it makes me want to go and visit the big cities, and the beautiful beaches, and have some experiences that I couldn't do in England.

All these things being said, I decided to compile a bucket list. A list of some of the things that I want to achieve throughout my life. Now this is by no means the entire list. I've been racking my brains and come up with a top 10, however I'm sure there are hundreds more that I could think of given the chance. See how many you would like to do yourself, and if you decide to do a post please link me in the comments. Here goes...

1. Times Square on New Years Eve
I've loved this city from the moment I set foot there in December 2011 and I've been trying to think of a way to get myself back there. It really is incredible at Christmas time, and I'd love to do something truly amazing for NYE for once. I'm hoping this will be my 2014 plan.

2. Have a piece of my work published in a magazine
Any magazine. I think it's any journalist's dream to be published. I have a fair amount online, but nothing in print so this is pretty much right at the top of the list.

3. Swim with dolphins
Pretty sure this is on 90% of people's bucket list. I went snorkelling in Hawaii and swam with a turtle which was just incredible, so I know I would love this. My Nanny says that the best place they've snorkelled and swam with dophins is the red sea, so that's firmly on my holiday list!

4. Go to Disneyworld Florida
I am such a big kid and no matter what age I would be going on everything here. I love rides, I love Disney, and I love America so I'm pretty sure this would be all my childhood/teenage dreams come true. And Harry Potter land is not too far, so obviously I'd HAVE to go!

5. Fall madly in love
Now I know this is completely and utterly cheesy, but I'd be lying if I didn't put this on here. I am a bit of a self confessed hopeless romantic, but who doesn't want a love like the Notebook!?

6. Go on safari in Africa
I love the Zoo. I mentioned before that I am just a big kid, so this would just be like a huge trip to the zoo. I mean how incredible is it to be that close to an elephant!? So cool! And I've got a weird fascination with giraffes, so I'd bladdy love that!

7. Learn to play Wonderwall on guitar
I've tried to learn to play guitar once before, but like the majority of hobbies I had as a child I gave up when the going got tough. Wonderwall is one of my favourite songs so I'd really like to be able to play it one day. If I stick it on here I figure I'm less likely to quit.

8. Take my children to Lapland
When I eventually have a family I WILL be taking them to meet Father Christmas in Lapland. I think as a kid there is nothing more magical than the idea of Father Christmas and I wish I'd been able to go as a child, so this is definitely one thing that will 100% get crossed off this list (if I find someone to put up with me long enough to have children that is).

9. Take part in karaoke
Now this may seem like a stupid idea, but the mere idea of having to do this terrifies me. I do love singing, I'm not saying I'm great at it, not at all, but I do love it. And I used to love performing as a child, competitions at holiday camp and performing to my family in the back garden of our house. Loved it. I'd just like to face my fear at some point and get up on karaoke night. Wine will be involved.

10. Do the London Marathon
I think this is an incredible thing to be able to say that you have done in your lifetime. My Auntie and my friend did it this year and both raised such a good amount of money for brilliant causes and I want to be able to do the same. Something that is going to take a lot of hard work, but have a positive outcome for someone else. Plus it just looks bloody awesome. And tiring.
