A New Look for Pudsey...

So unless you have been living under a rock, or have been of galavanting across the other side of the planet, then you will know that it is Children in Need this week. The week of mufti days, and raffles, and people running around city centres dressed as superheroes or what not shaking buckets and raising money. But when it comes to the fashion world, we have a slightly more creative way of raising money. Thanks to the ultra talented, rich and famous.

Curated by LOVE magazine editor Katie Grand, Selfridges introduced the 2012 Designer Pudsey collection exclusively for their London Concept Store, seeing 30 of the best designers from all across the globe design their own unique 28 inch version of Britain's best loved bear! From Balenciaga, to Alexander McQueen, Burberry to the one and only Vivienne Westwood, the bears were created using many different materials, including leather, swarovski crystals, and even goats hair - probably the most stylish Pudsey's we've ever seen!

The entire collection has been exhibited at London's Selfridges Concept Store since mid October and the beautiful bears went on auction last night; giving the highest bidder not only the pride of donating money to such an incredible cause, but also a piece of fashion history!

 Giles Deacon
 Louis Vuitton

Tom Ford

Giles Deacon's stunning sequin embellished Pudsey appeared to be the most popular after a bidding war, selling for an amazing £24,000. Coming in a close second at £20,000 was Louis Vuitton's cute number which doubled up as a bag, and third to the wonderful suited and booted Tom Ford ted for £12,000. With Versace's Pudsey reaching over £6000, and McQueen over £8000; the auction quickly totaled up at £152,200!

Every bear was so unique, and it's fair to say that no one will ever own something like these little cuties ever again so I'll leave you with a few of my favourites. But for the rest of us mere mortals who are a few pennies short of the thousands to buy these rather amazing creatures, Selfridges have created their own 10 inch version for £80 - available online here. £66.66 goes straight to Children in Need. Or if you're feeling a little more flush, some of the beauts below are still up for bidding here. Enjoy...
