A Night at the British Fashion Awards...

So it was one of the biggest nights for British fashion last night and from the few photographs I've seen, the attendees did not disappoint with their outfit choices. Fashion's most beautiful all turned out for last nights awards at the Savoy in London with Stella McCartney taking home an impressive two awards for Designer of the Year, and Designer Brand of the Year. Accepting her award in a gorgeous embellished trip, strapless jumpsuit from her own line - she was definitely one of my top ten outfits last night.

Straight in at number one was the stunning Cara Delevingne sweeping up the award for model of the year. All eyes were on the bushy browed beauty as she wowed in a metallic Burberry dress and silver peep toe heels. With her debut for Victoria's Secret, covering this months i-D magazine adorned with a tarantula on her face, becoming the face of Chanel's resort campaign 2013, and now receiving one of the most prestigious awards in modelling, I think it's fair to say that 2012 has been a pretty impressive year for the 20 year old model. She faced out competition from the ultra hot David Gandy, and fellow VS angel Jourdan Dunn - another one of my favourites from the night!

Alexa Chung took home the much sought after British Style Award for the third year running, looking every little bit the fashionista in a black embroidered Simone Rocha dress teamed up with some Nicholas Kirkwood boots. Speaking of whom, he managed to snap up the award for Best Accessory Designer.  After launching his eponymous collection in Spring 2005, the footwear protege has gone from strength to strength - quirky collaborations with Rodarte, and Louise Gray; creating footwear for many fashion week shows, AND his shoeshave been on the feet of angels as he single handedly created the footwear for this years VS show. This innovative designer is certainly one to look out for!

Other awards of the night included the incredible Manolo Blahnik receiving the BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion, Professor Louise Wilson took home the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator in recognition of her creative inspiration and her influence in the dashion industry as Course Director of MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins, Kim Jones won Menswear Designer of the Year for his work for Louis Vuitton, Erdem bagged the New Establishment Award, Roksanda Ilincic with the Red Carpet Award, and the Special Recognition Award went to Harold Tillman CBE for his term as Chairman of the British Fashion Council and contribution to the fashion industry. Emergency talent awards went to J.W Anderson in the Ready to Wear category, Sophie Hulme for accessories, and Jonathon Saunders for Menswear.

So for all of those of you who like me weren't lucky enough to attend this years fashionista awards, I hope I've got you up to speed with all the events. And I shall leave you with my favourite outfits of the night, enjoy...
