Ever since all the pictures from the Victoria's Secret Show invaded the Daily Mail website, I have not been able to stop thinking about how these women are so frickin perfect! And also if any of the underwear they actually sell has any comfort value/actually wear-ability other than to stand in front of your other half and watch their jaw drop to the floor! Stunning none the less, but not the most practical of possessions. However, that doesn't stop me wanting 90% of the store.
British models really made their debut this year with Lily Donaldson, Cara Delevigne, and Jourdan Dunn strutting their stuff down the runway and making all 20 year old girls ridiculously jealous with their never ending legs, washboard stomachs, and quite frankly banging cleavage. How are these girls even human - complete perfection.
Of course not forgetting the highly anticipated 'fantasy bra' costing a huge £2.5 million! In my own personal it is not a patch on the fantasy bra from last years show - but maybe that's because I've got a bit of a girl crush on Miranda Kerr and everything she wears will be a block above everyone else! However, Alessandra Ambrosio looked pretty damn awesome in the garment, covered with amethysts, sapphires, rubies and white, pink and yellow diamonds. Not entirely sure about the orchid strapped to her back, but I'll go with it.
The thing with these kind of shows and the media is that the topic of too fat/too small is always going to come up. This is one of those things that really drives me mad. Despite being a journalist, I am a firm believer that when it comes to the issue of weight - you will never please the media! Lose weight - too skinny, Put on weight - too fat. Apparently there is no inbetween and it really angers me. The media should be empowering women of all shapes and sizes to look great and feel confident in their bodies. Don't get me wrong, there comes a point when getting to a certain weight becomes unhealthy, but just because someone isn't a standard 5ft6 size 8, doesn't mean that they are overweight. Before I end up going on a rant, I'll show you the picture that has caused me to feel the need to comment on this.
Now, maybe I'll get a bit of flack for saying this - but I would LOVE to have a washboard flat stomach like that. She has been in fierce workout mode for the VS show and lets face it, 2 days before you're about to strut around in your underwear for the entire world to see. you'd kind of hope that your body would be at it's peak. Judging from the pictures below she was looking absolutely slammin on the night! Each to their own I suppose, but judgemental opinions on people's weight from one photo really gets me.
But anyway, after slightly veering off topic, the thing I love about the VS shows is that they always put on such a spectacular performance. They always have brilliant artists singing, and the models are actually smiling, having a dance, and just looking like they are having so much fun. Much better than just the glaring eyes of a fashion week show. I love it. The show will be aired on 4th December at the VS website, and no doubt all over the internet, so make sure you don't miss out!
soooo perfect bodies <3
