So Valentines Day is fast approaching, as I'm sure unless you've been living under a rock, you're well aware. So I thought it appropriate to do a nice little V-Day themed fashion post. Now I'm gonna to try and have a little pre post ramble without sounding too much like a bitter singleton. Let's see how this goes...
I am a complete romantic at heart. Always have been always will be. So for me, Valentines Day has just become way too commercialised and a way to sell products to people on a day that is pretty much the same as any other day. I got an email the other day saying to treat my partner to the new iPad mini for Valentines. Ermmm really!?! What a romantic and well thought out present. I think not. I would a million times prefer my boyfriend (if I had one) to buy my a beautiful bunch of flowers (my favourites are lilies, just in case anyone wants to know) and go out for dinner or on some form of date than be presented with an iPad mini. There's just no effort or romance there at all. I also feel I don't want a specific day set out that means that my boyfriend would have to buy me a present because it's Valentines. So much cuter to be surprised with some flowers on a little token gift, just because. So yeh, Valentines: commercialised and lost all meaning of what it's really about, but back to today's post...
I just had to include this Grow Your Own Boyfriend on here because it's just funny. I mean we all want a boyfriend who listens, never argues with your, and doesn't snore. Wouldn't that be just perfect. Plus this little man can grow up to 600 times his original size when placed in water. Pretty impressive aye.
Now. If it's possible to fall in love with a dress, I think I just have. I'm a sucker for backless dresses, especially midi ones. It just makes a very sophisticated dress, extremely sexy at the same time. The red tone is just beautiful and really makes me wish I was a brunette so I could pull this off, though there is a blue version also. Possible, very possible.
A heart covered item of clothing had to be included at some point, I mean it is the symbol that we all know too well is associated with love. This is so cute, and the perfect dress with some tights and heeled chelsea boots, sling on a leather jacket and you're good to go. Just happens to only be available in my size as well. How very odd...
We know I love studs. We know I love socks. The two combined together - perfect! I literally hate not wearing socks. If I could spend all year in boots and fluffy socks without being judged, I totally would. These are slightly expensive for a pair of socks, but it's just been payday so why not.
I used to go straight to La Senza for my slightly sexier lingerie, but now it's been taken over it's just got so so tacky, I hate it. I spotted this on Topshop when looking at the New In section and I just love it. It's really sexy but in a subtle and understated way. The mauve shade is gorgeous, and I just want it in my life right now. After buying a few matching underwear sets recently, I just want millions more. Preeeeetttttyyyy.
I love Kukee. I'm sure I don't need to tell you anymore times. Amazing, unique jewellery, at really reasonable prices. I've been eyeing up this ring since it came on the site a couple of weeks ago, and looking at it today I've no idea why I didn't buy it. £2! What a bargain. I think I've got a pretty big basket full of stuff at the moment, need to get round to getting the debit card out!
Lastly, you can never go wrong with an LBD. I like something with a little added extra to set it apart from something plain, and this is ideal. The mesh panelling shows off a bit of skin without being over the top and it's well under £15! H&M have been throwing out some absolute gems recently, and I'm loving it. The high street is making a come back this season, for sure!
Hope you all have a lovely Valentines day on Thursday, single or not - enjoy. I shall be spending the evening with my entire family, eating lots of food, and celebrating my sister's 16th birthday. As cheesy as it sounds, no one loves you more than your family so I guess it's a pretty fitting group of people to spend my Valentines with. God love 'em.
That topshop heart dress is so cute I was so close to buying it the other day xx
